Surrounded by all manner of colourful, sweet-smelling native flora, tropical palms and seductive bougainvillaea, it’s easy to see how Amazonas got its name. Puente Romano may be best known as an affluent resort on Marbella’s prestigious Golden Mile – a mixture of Michelin-star restaurants, world-class tennis courts and its beachfront location – but its botanical gardens are not to be underestimated.
Amazonas is located in the heart of the gardens and has been designed to make the most of its location. Open-plan living areas spill onto a generous terrace (also accessible via the master bedroom) – a relaxing space to sit back and be at one with nature. With so much to do it quickly becomes a calming retreat from the hustle and bustle of the resort.
Inside the apartment, the feng shui remains decidedly tranquil. Tropical murals and a natural colour palette help the interior feel like an extension of the gardens. Award-winning interior designer Andrea Böck’s choice of furniture, art and lighting makes the place feel refined but homely. The two bedrooms are laid-back, soothing havens, their en-suite bathrooms fresh and invigorating.
